Today's easy episode: disagreement

April 12th, 2008 (05:23 pm)

Not sure I mentioned it here but I really appreciate working in a multicultural environment. It's very interesting and I particularly like the way disagreement is expressed depending on people's cultural background. For example, when I don't agree with something, I tend to be like "No offence... but I DISAGREE, you are WRONG, WRONG, and I'm going to murder your father, burn your mother, marry your sister and force her to eat raw monkeys for breakfast" whereas American colleagues, for example, would say something like "sounds good to me, but not sure it's what you want to do".

Good fun, overall.

The Irish version is of course "Me hole" or "Stick it up your hole" or something to do with holes.

I like the hole idea.

I DISAGREE!! There are plenty of Americans who will tell you bluntly when they disagree. (You can find examples on various mailing lists.)

But um ... any idea where I can find a raw monkey supplier who ships to California?

I'm not sure it's what you really want to order. Raw monkeys ought to be eaten by sisters. Are you a sister?

Well done!

The raw monkeys would be for me to feed to others as I learn to be more French in my disagreements.

But you raise a good point. We need a database to keep track of who has/is a sister and whether said sisters like to eat raw monkey.
